LIVING HISTORY
Eoghan the Archer Brace yourself;
Rule of thumb;
Keeping tabs;
The butt (of a joke);
a bolt from the blue;
Picking a quarrel and the infamous two-fingered V-sign.
  Tasting the broth
Listen to Eoghan the Archer use these terms in everyday medieval language!     Medieval recipes sound similar to those of today with the exception of dressed swan or baked hedgehog!

Caught stealing fish   Guards were keeping watch
Fish from the surrounding seas was eaten several times per week.   Merchants were trading and guards were keeping watch.   The maid prepares the pottage.
