Seasonal Variations

In addition to the regular living history tours which run all year round, there are seasonal variations at certain times of the year.


Learn the secrets of the Viking warrior, who captures slaves and imprisons them on Dalkey Island. Pay the Viking taxes, or ‘pay through the nose. ’Bring to life ‘The Zombie Child’ – a magic puppet who comes to life at this time of year and dance The Witches Dance.  Dates: Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th October at 12.00, 15.00 & 16.00, Monday 29th & Wednesday 31st October at 12.00, 15.00 & 16.00. (Closed Tuesday 30th October).




Medieval Christmas at Dalkey

Have a Merry Medieval Christmas!  Step in to ‘Christmases Past’ with the Medieval Lords and Ladies of Dalkey Castle. They will fascinate you with the origins of ‘the Christmas Box’, ‘the Piggy Bank’, ‘Carol Singing’ and  the wearing of ‘Christmas Holly’. Don’t let Christmases Past pass you by! Great Fun Family Day Out!

Dates: Daily from Wednesday 28th November until Friday 21st December. (Excl. Santa Tours at weekends).


 Sing carols, play games, listen to magical Christmas stories with costumed characters and meet Santa who is part of the story.  There will be ‘Goodie’ bags for the children (Children must be accompanied by an adult)

Dates: December Sat 8th, Sun 9th, Sat 15th, Sun 16th & Sat 22nd.

Times: 12 noon; 14.00, 15.00 &16.00.
